The Black Developers Housing Summit was created to address the lack of housing stock, assist with returning nontax performing properties to the tax roll, and driving an economic ecosystem for Black practitioners in their respective neighborhoods. Blight continues to be the theft of equity for Black Homeowners. Properties that are heavily encumbered from violations, utility bills, and property taxes prevent redevelopment. The Black Developers Housing Summit will help address these community impediments, while presenting solutions that create income producing jobs and self-sufficient, self-sustainable communities.

The attendees will experience a robust educational offering that includes:
• Foundations of Development
• The “Deal”
• Feasibility
• Resources & Understanding the Capital Stack
• Community Partnerships
• Day in the Life of a Developer
• Networking opportunities

This year's theme, "Shifting the Paradigm through Equity and Access", means that today we bring collective voice to the need to empower Black developers with the economic supports and opportunities that bring forward solutions that restore black communities, engage community in the rehabilitation of their own neighborhoods and support development that ultimately bridges the wealth gap for black families.
